At Makerspace Innovhub, we believe that digital literacy is a powerful tool for economic independence. We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Makerspace DigitalJobs Technical Training Program in San Fernando, La Union.

This initiative, sponsored by the City Government of San Fernando, was specifically designed to empower women in the community. Our goal was to provide them with high-demand digital skills that allow them to pursue digital careers without neglecting their responsibilities at home.

Two Batches of Innovation

To maximize efficiency and foster innovation, the program was divided into two intensive sessions held at the City Hall compound’s Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS). The first batch took place from November 17 to 20, 2025, followed by a second batch from November 24 to 27, 2025. Throughout both sessions, participants demonstrated incredible dedication as they worked to master the essential tools of the modern digital economy.

A Comprehensive Digital Curriculum

The training was carefully curated to cover every aspect of building a modern online presence and starting a freelance career:

1. Creative Design with Canva

Participants learned how to use Canva to create professional, sellable templates. From children’s storybooks and tracing materials to interactive “spot the difference” puzzles, these women are now equipped to enter the digital product marketplace.

2. Mastering AI and Prompt Engineering

We introduced the group to the world of Artificial Intelligence. Beyond just using the tools, we focused on “The Right Way of Prompting,” teaching them how to communicate effectively with AI to maximize productivity and creativity.

3. Web Presence and Blogging

Every participant built their professional portfolio using WordPress. They took a major step in their digital journey by writing and publishing their first blog posts, laying the foundation for their personal brands.

4. Social Media Optimization and Content Planning

To ensure their skills get noticed, we worked on optimizing their social platforms, specifically LinkedIn, to build a modern online presence. We concluded the program by teaching them how to create a monthly content plan to maintain consistent engagement with potential clients.

Building a Digitally-Literate Community

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Municipal Government of San Fernando for their vision and sponsorship. By investing in the digital education of these women, the city is fostering a more resilient and tech-savvy workforce.

Congratulations to all our graduates! We can’t wait to see the amazing things you will achieve.
