Dagupan City, Pangasinan
From September 23rd to 27th, 2024, the University of Luzon became a hub for knowledge sharing as the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) organized a 5-day intensive training program on Digital Forensics. This vital initiative aimed to equip participants from various Local Government Units (LGUs), organizations, and sectors with the skills and tools needed to navigate the complex world of digital evidence investigation.

The training program was a remarkable collaborative effort, bringing together the expertise of renowned professionals: Sir Tzar Umang, an IS Audit & Digital Forensics Expert from MakerspaceInnovhub, and Sir Christian Idia, a Certified Ethical Hacker & Digital Forensics Expert from DigiForce. Both speakers shared their deep knowledge and practical experience, guiding participants through the intricate world of digital forensics.

Hands-on Learning and Real-World Application
The program wasn’t just theoretical; it provided a platform for hands-on learning and application. Participants had the opportunity to utilize cutting-edge digital forensics tools, gaining invaluable practical experience in real-world scenarios. This immersive approach ensured that participants left the training with a tangible understanding of how to effectively collect, analyze, and present digital evidence.
Empowering Local Leaders
The program’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. By equipping local leaders with advanced digital forensics skills, the DICT aims to strengthen cybersecurity measures across LGUs and organizations. This empowers them to respond effectively to cybercrime incidents, protect sensitive data, and build a more secure digital environment for all.
A Testament to Collaboration
The success of this training program is a testament to the power of collaboration between government agencies like the DICT, private sector experts, and educational institutions like the University of Luzon. This partnership fosters innovation, knowledge sharing, and ultimately, contributes to building a more resilient and secure digital future for the Philippines.
